Brief Description

The mission of Bluegrass Council of the Blind is to provide resources and services to all people affected by a loss of sight, improving lives for all by empowering persons with a loss of vision to continue living independently as productive contributing members of their community and to educate the public on the rights, abilities and needs of the blind and visually impaired. Services are available to anyone directly or indirectly impacted by a loss of sight.

Hours of operation: 9AM to 3PM Monday - Friday (Plus additional hours as needed)
Clients served on average per year: 300 - 400
Number of staff: 1 full time and 2 part time staff members
Geographic area served: BCB serves Central and Eastern Kentucky, focusing on Fayette and surrounding counties. Due to limited services available specifically for b/vi adults, we do our best to offer services and resources to other counties of the Bluegrass as we have them available. Priority counties include Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Madison, Montgomery, Scott, and Woodford.
