Lighthouse International is dedicated to fighting vision loss through prevention, treatment, and empowerment. Founded in New York City in 1905, Lighthouse International is dedicated to preserving vision and helping people of all ages overcome the challenges of vision loss. Through clinical services, education, research, and advocacy, the Lighthouse enables people with low vision and blindness to enjoy safe, independent, and productive lives.

Use the Lighthouse "Find Help in Your Area" database to find information about local ophthalmologists, optometrists, government agencies, and support groups.

Lighthouse International also has an online store with the latest vision-friendly products, including glare-free lighting, household items, magnifying mirrors, watches, clocks, computer software, and CCTVs.

Lighthouse also provides LowBrowse™, an add-on software tool that enables people with moderate or severe low vision to both view web pages as the original web author intended and read the text on those pages tailored to their own visual needs. The program runs in conjunction with the Mozilla Firefox browser, is offered at no charge, and is available for download via the Firefox add-on site. LowBrowse will work with Mozilla, IE and Mac.
