Dr. Weinstock is an ophthalmologist, board-certified and with extensive experience in risk management, medico-legal consulting, practice management, and medical and surgical ophthalmology. He is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Northeast Ohio Medical University and Volunteer Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

His interest in preventive and consultative medicine stems from his background as an ophthalmology consultant to the United States Public Health Service. In addition, he has written over 200 articles, published (as an author or co-author) seven books, and lectured extensively in the United States and internationally. He is on the editorial boards of many ophthalmology journals and writes a monthly lay newspaper column.

His honors have included the Lifetime Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Stark County Medical Society and the Senior Honor Award from the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists.
