How can I continue to shop for my clothing?

In the past you may have enjoyed keeping up-to-date with fashions, and there is no reason why this should change. You may now be more sensitive to how different materials and textures feel (and maybe the memories they recall), and to their different characteristics.

Discuss the latest trends and seasonal colors with those who have similar interests.?When you go shopping, have some ideas of?the colors and styles you like. Feel comfortable asking those whose opinion you respect for their views and recommendations.

Sighted Assistance

Many people do their shopping with friends or family members. It may also be easier to have someone you know to help you read prices and locate clothing in your size. Having sighted assistance could reduce your frustration level and assure you that your clothing choices match. But, as with most other things in life, you're the one who makes the final decisions! Personal Shoppers

Many department stores and supermarkets provide "Personal Shopper" services for their customers. You do not have to be blind or partially sighted to take advantage of these services. A Personal Shopper is employed by the store to assist the shopper in locating merchandise, reading labels and prices, and providing a personal touch to the purchasing process. If you have a favorite store you like to frequent, you can call the store to find out if they provide Personal Shoppers. There is usually no charge for this service, although you should confirm this prior to setting up an appointment. (Most stores ask that you make an appointment when you want to use this service.)
