Brief Description

We are a Maine non-profit organization dedicated to sharing information and resources relating to raising children who are visually impaired, as well as offering social opportunities and emotional support for our families. Our organization is run by parents who volunteer their time and talent. NAPVI-ME is an affiliate of NAPVI, the National Association of Parents of Children with Visual Impairments. No one is excluded from NAPVI-ME. Our children range in age from infancy to adulthood and have many types and severities of visual impairments. Some of our kids are in early intervention programs, while others are in mainstreamed, specialized, or vocational educational settings. We encourage all Maine parents of children with visual impairments, as well as professionals who work with children with visual impairments, to connect with us and help make a difference in the lives of our children. All are welcome!
