Brief Description

The Talking Book Center provides library materials in audio, braille, and large print formats to Alaskans of all ages who are visually or physically handicapped to such an extent that they cannot read standard print materials.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Staff description: Alaska staff include one 0.25-time librarian and on-call support staff.
Geographic area served: Alaska. The Alaska State Library contracts with the Utah State Library to provide Braille materials to our patrons in Alaska.

    • Provide talking books, playback equipment, downloadable books and magazines, and large-print books for adults who cannot read standard print because of a visual or physical disability. Braille services are also available through the Talking Book Center.
