LC Industries, a multi-site manufacturing, distribution, retail and E-Commerce Company, is seeking Training and Development Manager to join our team.

DESCRIPTION: The training and development manager is responsible for planning and coordinating programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of an organization’s employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. In conjunction with the CHRO and HR team, this position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. This position will help support employment retention and upward mobility across L C Industries through assessment, evaluation, and training of all employees with a focus on employees who are blind or visually impaired on the use of assistive technology software and adaptive aids as related to computers and software systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years previous experience with training & development with a desire and focus on L C Industries blind and visually impaired employees. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong proficiency with various types of assistive technology used by blind or visually impaired individuals including JAWS, Window Eyes, Magic, Zoom Text, NVDA and System Access. Strong proficiency with PC-compatible hardware and Windows operating environments, Microsoft Office products and Internet Explorer. Knowledge of Braille and Braille conversion software. Knowledge of and ability to maintain effective best practices and current issues in the field of accessibility. Knowledge of legislation regarding equal access to employment including 508 compliance. Displays a willingness to learn new information. Familiarity with a manufacturing, retail and distribution environment. Experience designing and implementing curriculum preferred. Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Conducts annual training and development needs assessment. Proposes training and development programs and objectives. Develops and monitors spending against the departmental budget. Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media. Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts. Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results. Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff. Manage the assessment of specific job requirements for newly hired or transferred visually impaired employees, and recommend appropriate AT solutions. Manage the process of Assistive Technology assessments, consultations, and equipment trials. Assess new Reasonable Accommodation requests with CHRO and research technology options as requested. Stay current on latest Assistive Technology and trends out in the market. Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned. This position may require travel up to 25%.

Certifications: Preferred but not required: Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
