Any suggestions for using the laundromat?
Using a Laundromat
Cues from Colored Lights
??Coin operated machines in a laundromat have different colored lights on them that light when the machine is going through a specific cycle. ?If you are able to see these small lights blink on and off, you can use that as a cue as to when you add the detergent, fabric softener or other solutions to the machine.
Cues from Changes in Sound
You can also listen to the sound of the machine as it changes from one cycle to the next. ?If you are going to rely on these sound cues, it would be a good idea to visit the laundromat when it is not too busy.
Delegation or Support
Many laundromats employ at least one person who is there during the daytime hours to oversee the store and to keep the machines clean after use, or to do the laundry as a customer service.? If the worker is unable to do your laundry, ?then ask if they would mind telling you when each cycle changes. In this way you'll be able to add the detergent or softener into the machine at the appropriate time.? If you keep your visits to roughly the same time and day, the worker will get to know you and be more likely to assist you.
