The Kansas Audio-Reader Network is a reading and information service for blind, visually impaired, and print-disabled individuals in Kansas and western Missouri. Audio-Reader reads daily newspapers, magazines, and best-selling books on the air and on the internet, 24 hours a day, and offers automated newspaper readings by telephone. Services are offered free of charge to anyone in the listening area who is unable to read regular printed material.

Envision offers employment opportunities and vision rehabilitation services to individuals who are blind, have low vision, or are developmentally disabled.
Programs and services include the following:
- Employment: Envision is the largest employer of individuals who are blind or low vision in a six-state region. Some of the more than 90 products made at Envision by individuals who are blind or low vision are used across the globe. We also operate retail stores on 15 military bases.
- Vision Rehabilitation: More than one in six American seniors reports some form of vision loss, but few take advantage of vision rehabilitation services. These include counseling, training in use of optical devices, rehabilitation teaching and orientation & mobility training. With vision rehabilitation, you can live a richer, safer, more independent life.
- Public Education: Each year, Envision produces radio, television and newspaper advertising campaigns centered on healthy vision. Envision also produces educational seminars for consumers and medical professionals, addressing vision loss and stroke, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.

The Center provides services to youth and adults who are deaf-blind according to the definition of deaf-blindness in the Helen Keller Act. The national center in New York and regional offices that serve each state provide advocacy, support groups, information, and services to people who have both a vision and a hearing loss.
The mission of the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC) is to enable each person who is deaf-blind to live and work in his or her community of choice. Authorized by an Act of Congress in 1967, the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults is a national rehabilitation program serving youth and adults who are deaf-blind.

The primary service area for the Joplin Association for the Blind and Regional Low Vision Resource Center is a 100-mile radius of Joplin, Missouri, serving the four-state areas of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (KABVI) was founded in 1920 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Comprised totally of volunteers, all activities are conducted by individuals contributing their own time and resources.
KABVI strives to increase the independence, opportunities, and quality of life for blind and visually impaired Kansans.
KABVI maintains the Kansas Braille and Archival Center on Kansas Blind, a small braille library and an archival library containing information on blindness and visual impairment.
KABVI receives donations of used adaptive equipment for the blind and visually impaired, such as low vision devices, talking items, and adapted computers, and recycles these items back into the community to serve others who may need them. They recycle some items free of charge, and charge minimal fees for redistribution of larger high-tech items.
KABVI also provides meeting space for low vision and blindness-related support groups and provides volunteer peer consultation.

Services for Blind and Visually Impaired Veterans:
The mission of the VA Blind Rehabilitation Service is to coordinate a healthcare service delivery system that provides a continuum of care for blinded veterans extending from their home environment to the local VA facility and to the appropriate rehabilitation setting.
Visual Impairment Service Team (VIST):
The Visual Impairment Service Team (VIST) Coordinator serves as the initial contact person for getting help with vision loss. VIST Coordinators are located at local VA Medical Centers across the country. They work to ensure that veterans with visual impairments receive appropriate benefits and services.
The VIST Coordinator is a case manager who has major responsibility for the coordination of all services for legally blind veterans and their families. Duties include providing and/or arranging for the provision of appropriate treatment plans and programs in order to enhance a blinded veteran's functioning level.
Other duties include identifying new cases of blindness, providing professional counseling, resolving problems, arranging annual healthcare reviews, and conducting education programs relating to blindness.
